I realize I name dropped Kathleen Hanna twice now, and since she's so awesome and I want everyone to feel connected to what that reference indicates, here she is.
Basically she's a badass early 3rd waver who was a founding part of the Riot Grrl movement and the intense rise in self-publication from the feminist movement (zines baby!). She's had two major (ly political) music projects: bikini kill and le tigre. I haven't figured out how to post videos within the blog, so here are sweet links to watch her in both of these
I think you will enjoy her 'herstory' and her varying approaches to feminist/musical activism. I think she's amazing, enjoy.
