I just finished reading the article Unequal by Jessica Neuwirth and was once gain blown away by the lack of equality for women. Even after months in a feminism class, continuing to learn about laws that discriminate against women is mind boggling. The most upsetting thing about all the information I have gathered over the past few months is the lack of discussion on what to do about it. Sharing the information is important but beyond that what else is being done. In Unequal there are pictures of women protesting, but they are in another country that has much more severe laws, the one they are specifically protesting states that four adult males must attest to witnessing a women’s rape. I would love to hear about what type of protests are going on in the United States because as of right now I feel like the feminist movement has settled for what they have gotten thus far. Although this is hard to believe considering how many women suffer in the US and because of it. Please someone give me an example of something done recently in the name of women.

  1. The testimony law is an Islamic law - that is straight up from the Q'uran.

You can change a law, but that won't make people less sexist. I think you should try to reach the people that you can.
also, there was a quote in one of the readings like "talking feminism to a women without food and water is talking nonsense" (paraphrased). A lot of women out there have more pressing needs than equality.

Just some stuff to think about
