Research for a presentation I am doing in another class led me to look up sexist tv commercials on Youtube. I have to say that I was disappointed when I looked up things like sexist video, sexist commercials, and other variations lots of times I found clips of girls making out or Beyonce in concert. There were more "sexiest" videos with scantily clad women than "sexist commercials" that came up on my searches..and I don't think it's because there are fewer sexist commercials.
It's also so scary/depressing sometimes to go online to forums or videos about feminism and read people's comments! Yikes! I have been overwhelmed lately online doing research for things how much hate there is regarding feminism!

I know its very discouraging. I feel like some people see a feminist as someone that is affiliated with some kind of cult or freaky religion. I got a simmular feeling at the free concert for Worlds Aids Day Alliance weekend. All of the kids were so put off by us it seemed. I was wondering if I was just that out of touch of whats considered "cool" and was just coming off weird trying to pass out condoms and info. But than i thought, what if these kids are keeping such a distance because it says AIDS on the flyers. AIDS is scary and a bummer to talk about so no one wanted to have anything to do with it, as if talking about it might make it a reality in their life. I dunno, Maybe there are simular parralells here and to why people are so hatefull and scared of feminism.
