  1. I don't know this movie - are you sure its not at all tongue-in-cheek? the line "hide who you really are" seems a bit much - even for the 60s.

  2. I haven't seen this movie since the early nineties...so that is definitley a valid point. However it is on my "Disney Greatest Hits" mixed tape...which kinda bums me out a bit...Apparently I used to sing it a lot when I was little--which makes me kinda wonder about the kind of things we(as children) sing or tell ourselves without really thinking about it.....Just something to tie back into Addie's Pop Workshop. :)

  3. haha whoa!
Hmmmm even if it was meant to be tongue-in-cheek by the peeps who produced/wrote it, the actors certainly do not portray it in that manner. Also, I'm sure most of the young girls watching this were not watching with skepticism and certainly might have been taking mental notes on these tips to catch their fancies. Lame!

  4. Then, there's the nightmarish, "I'm Just A Girl Who Can't Say 'No'" from the musical "Oklahoma" and "I am 16 Going on 17" from "The Sound of Music" both of which got engrained in my brain early on...talk about subliminal messaging. Yikes!
